Over the past 10 years, the MCU has become a powerful movie empire that can not be overthrown. But the land is also getting narrower as the number of new superheroes increases dramatically. So that Avengers: Infinity War will also be the farewell of many “familiar faces” have attached to the audience for many years.
(Due to the nature of time travel, the following characters can still die in the upcoming movie even though they appeared on the set of Avengers 4).
Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) is most likely dead in the Avengers trailer: Infinity War when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) grabs some of the character’s grief. The American actress was the female lead in the Iron Man trilogy, but completely absent from Captain America: Civil War (2016) because of a contract expiration.
Then, she unexpectedly reappeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) with little importance. Pepper Potts’ death could have shocked both Tony Stark and the grave and was the main reason for leaving the MCU. What happens to her in the upcoming movie can only be a wedding bell or a funeral.
Although still the best villain of the MCU to date, Loki’s journey (Tom Hiddleston) should end in the end. After the villainous role in The Avengers (2012), his influence seems to be limited to the series Thor.
In Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Avengers: Infinity War trailer, Loki seems to have changed somewhat when fighting the Asgard and Tesseract to save Thor (Chris Hemsworth). The death of the deity will be a heartwarming remembrance for the viewer. More importantly, after Loki left, Marvel would have a better chance of building much better villains.
The story of Nebula (Karen Gillan) revolves around Thanos (Josh Brolin) and looks like she will die when confronted by a crazy titan. Despite the same feud as Drax (Dave Bautista) but warrior women refused to become a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The role of this character in the series is not really big either. Karen Gillian once said that Nebula would have a “splendid moment” and that it was probably her sacrifice.
4. The Collector
Thanos’ conquest begins at the same time the “bad luck” who hold the Infinity Stone are in danger. The Collector (Benicio del Toro) is the owner of the Power Stone after the events of Thor: The Dark World (2013).
With core filtering ability, it is likely that Taneleer Tivan will deliver the stone immediately. But that does not mean he will be fully alive at Thanos’s atrocities. The only reason the character is alive is to see The Collector and The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) stand on the same screen as the fans.
5. Nick Fury
Although the connection of all the superheroes in the MCU, but the land of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is gradually less and completely absent in the past three years. The director of S.H.I.E.L.D has almost no role at all when it is destroyed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014).
Samuel L. Jackson only has two films with Marvel and one of them is Captain Marvel (2019). Nick Fury’s death in Avengers: Is Infinity War just the beginning of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) in the Avengers 4?
Chris Hemsworth has expressed his desire to continue with Thor 4 after Taika Waititimang to a new breeze for this character. However, that does not mean that Marvel will give Thunder a chance.
In fact, Chris Hemsworth’s contract will end after the Avengers 4 and Marvel will have to pay him higher salaries for the upcoming film. Odinson is not the only one who has the power of Thunder in the original, and the new Avengers have a superhero named Captain Marvel.
Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) seems to be the most rejected character in MCU when completely absent in the trailer as well as the pre-Avengers pics: Infinity War. Although the Russo brothers said that “there is a separate task” but Clint Barton does not seem to live to the end of the film.
His archery abilities have become blurry compared to the series’ powerful super-powers. Hawkeye is less and less active in battle. Clint’s death will give MCU more time to focus on more important characters.
Like the Collector, Vision (Paul Bettany) is also targeted by Thanos. Sadly, his life is completely dependent on the Mind Stone. In the trailer, Vision is attacked by Black Order to remove the stone from his forehead.
If escape this situation, this super hero does not seem to be alive to the end of the film. Vision may not die but will return in the form of Jarvis lives.
9. Iron Man
After 10 years, Robert Downney Jr. Most likely to leave the role at the age of 52. Even if the MCU birth but if the old does not die, the new hard to grow. The new superhero Marvel brought on the big screen is also the land for Tony Stark no longer. This studio is also hard to bear his salary when the MCU was stronger than before.
Other characters are still capable of wearing Iron Man armor as Shuri (Letitia Wright) in the Black Panther (2017). In addition, Robert Downney Jr. Want to give up this role to develop a career with a series of projects such as The Voyage of Doctor Dolittlehay Sherlock Holmes 3. A wedding then retirement with Pepper Potts?
10. Captain America
If someone would die in the Avengers: Infinity War then it was Captain America. Chris Evans has emphasized leaving the role after the Avengers 4 to pursue a career as a director. Letting the character go is no surprise when the American icon does not seem to be trendy anymore.
